How to Start a Home-Based
Personal Chef Business
By Denise Vivaldo
How to Start a Home-Based Personal Chef Business has
everything readers need to know to launch a profitable business
as a personal chef. The number of people interested in this
profession is growing by leaps and bounds, given increasing
number of students graduating from cooking school, the popularity
of food television, and people looking to supplement their
income with work they enjoy.
What's the difference between a personal chef and a caterer?
Personal chefs don't need special training (no culinary school
necessary!)--they just need to be good home cooks. And given
that today even middle-class families are hiring personal
chefs as a healthy and convenient way to feed their families,
and the number of individuals who need to hire a personal chef
to follow a special diet, the call for personal chefs is growing
as well.
Are you passionate about cooking? Have you ever thought about
working from home at something you enjoy? Now you can make
your dreams a reality.
Through plain language and easy-to-follow worksheets, Denise
Vivaldo takes you through every aspect of setting up and running
a thriving home-based personal chef business. She shares her
vast experience and expert advice on everything from estimating
your start-up costs and finding clients to cooking for special
needs and staying profitable. Whether you’re just starting
to learn the trade or are an experienced chef looking to be
your own boss, this guide can help you build your own successful
personal chef business.

How to Start a Home-Based
Catering Business
By Denise Vivaldo
The 4th Edition of
Denise's book is out in stores now! The new edition includes 50 fool-proof
party recipes.
Over 125,000
copies sold
Twice chosen
as a selection for the Good Cook, a division of the Book of the Month
Club
I wrote the first edition of this book in 1993. I received the smallest advance
in the history of publishing and had a very mean editor. Nevertheless, I decided
it was important to write about my experiences and what I had learned.
I never dreamed that I would receive royalties and then go on to write two
updated editions. It's hard to write when what you really enjoy is cooking.
I love being a chef and caterer. I love making money at it. And I'm proud that
I make great food and happy memories for people. I have a need to feed and
I'm guessing that all of you reading my book do too.
In the last twelve years, I have received countless e-mail and phone calls
from readers that bought my book. I am always humbled and overwhelmed that
anyone would take the time to do that. I'd like to thank every single person
who has bought my book. The fifth edition includes even more vital information
to help you get your catering business off the ground.
